          About Us

Angels-Havinn Inc. is a 501(c)3  nonprofit organization seeks to shelter, support, and empower survivors of domestic violence, and their children, while also providing resources for healing the wounds of trauma and educating them to build a supportive community.

By increasing public awareness of resources available to the broader community, community members, trusted, friends, neighbors, and family members may be better able to connect those affected by domestic violence or partner abuse with resources, such as shelters, transitional housing, treatment intervention programs, job placement, career-building programs, and therapeutic professionals such as social workers, therapists and other programs to help them, navigate with their self-care, self-love and self-esteem building. Teach them what healthy relationships look like by guiding them to a life of healing their wounds of the trauma they have experienced.

Founder/CEO

Changing lives, one individual at a time.

April Chambers is a woman of strength, purpose, passion, and full of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her passion for Christ has empowered April to put her faith in action. Her journey of trials and tribulations has manifested into a powerful work for the Kingdom of God and the body of Christ. Her life is now a testimony of triumph.

April is a devoted mother and has been blessed with seven beautiful gifts from God: her daughter Brittney and son Mikaaiyl; and granddaughter Brihana; grandsons Mikaaiyl Jr., Amari, Yeshua and Mahzi.

As a result of years of domestic violence and abuse, April suffered in silence and in the darkness of pain, shame, and secrecy. Now she has dedicated her life to be a light of hope in a dark world. She is the founder and CEO of Angels-Havinn, Inc. a non-profit organization.

April is not just a survivor of domestic violence, but she is a conqueror. She uses her testimony to speak out so that the silence can be broken. God has chosen and called her to speak out and educate the community on issues of domestic violence in a myriad of venues. Her story has been featured on News Channel 9 with Leslie Foster, News Channel 4 with Molette Green, and most recently on WHUR 96.3 radio with Bobby Gailes's “Taking it to the Streets.” The last Saturday of every month starting at 6 p.m. April hosts a virtual support group on Zoom called, “Love Yourself.” Live on Zoom Meeting ID:8917285940  Password: 8q78E1

She is currently a Certified Life Coach and a Certified Trauma Healing  Facilitator for a small group “Healing the Wounds of Trauma,” April has the heart to serve God’s people with humility. She serves as a greeter, active member of Adoration Choir, and faithful member at Kingdom Fellowship AME Church in Calverton , Maryland, where Reverend, Dr. Matthew Watley is the Senior Pastor.

April’s favorite scriptures are Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is my strength” and Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy path.” God has also given her the vision to open Angels Havinn a transitional home for battered women and children. Truly, “With God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.
